MacBook Plastic (Black & White) runs DDR2-667

MacBook Aluminum runs DDR3-1066

Motherboard RAM: 0mb
Sockets: 2
RAM type: DDR2-667, DDR2-800,or DDR3-1066, SO-DIMMs
The white or black plastic MacBook uses DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 memory. The Aluminum shell MacBook needs DDR3-1066 memory. What type of RAM do you need?
MacBook White and MacBook Black:
The original plastic MacBook in white and black uses DDR2-667 memory (also called PC2-5300). The early MacBook modules that run the "Intel Core" have a maximum memory of 2Gigs, the newer MacBooks that run the "Intel Core2" can run a maximum of 4Gigs. The latest (Early 2008 and newer) plastic MacBooks (Model Versions 3,1 and newer) can run 6Gigs with the installation of one 4Gig module and one 2Gig module. Please consult your Apple System Profiler to find your Model Version (under the Apple Menu select "About This Mac", then hit the "More Info" Button).
MacBook Aluminum:
The MacBook Aluminum uses a new high speed form of memory called DDR3-1066. The system maximum is 6Gigs with the installation of one 2Gig and one 4Gig SO-DIMM.
Non-Stacked IC's: Ramjet uses a Non-stacked module for the 2GB and 4Gig module for the MacBook. The cheaper stacked IC variety of 2GB and 4GB SO-DIMM runs hotter and draws more power, which hurts performance and decreases battery life. Ramjet ONLY uses premium non-stacked chips.
