iMac Memory for Models 11.3 (with i5 and i7) 12.1 and 12.2
iMac Mid 2010 and Mid 2011
DDR3-1333Mhz
The iMac 11,3 with i5 or i7 processor has a maximum of 32GB (4x8GB.) It is important to note this does not include the iMac 11,3 with i3 processor.
The standard iMac 12,1 has four slots and has a maximum of 32GB (4x8GB.) The iMac 12,1 Education Model has two slots with a maximum of 16GB (2x8GB.)
The iMac 12,2 also has four slots for a maximum of 32GB (4x8GB.)
12GB Limitation: Many DDR3-1333 Mhz modules on the market do not meet the Apple spec, and installation of these inferior parts limits users to a 12GB (2x2GB and 2x4GB) maximum. However, using Ramjet 4GB and 8GB SO-DIMMs, you can upgrade to the full 32GB system maximum.
Non-Stacked IC's: Ramjet uses a Non-stacked module for the DDR3-1333 module for the iMac. The cheaper stacked IC variety of SO-DIMM draws more power, which increases heat and can cause increased errors. Ramjet ONLY uses premium non-stacked chips.
DDR3-1333, 1333Mhz, PC3-10600, CAS Latency 9, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, 1.5V, 204pin SO-DIMMs
